In the Willow-meads of Tasarinan

“The Road Goes Every On”是音樂光碟與樂譜的組合，歌詞取材自托爾金的魔戒與其他作品，由英國知名的鋼琴家 Donald Swann 作曲，經托爾金聽過首肯而在70年代發行。這是其中的第三首歌，由樹鬍子（Treebeard）唱給 Merry & Pippin聽（LOTR 第二部 Treebeard 那章），懷念他在世界還年輕時漫遊過的地方。

In the willow-meads of Tasarinan I walked in the Spring.
Ah! the sight and the smell of the Spring in Nan-tasarion!
And I said that was good.

I wandered in Summer in the elm-woods of Ossiriand.
Ah! the light and the music in the Summer by the Seven Rivers of Ossir!
And I thought that was best.

To the beeches of Neldoreth I came in the Autumn.
Ah! the gold and the red and the sighing of leaves in the Autumn in Taur-na-neldor!
It was more than my desire.

To the pine-trees upon the highland of Dorthonion I climbed in the Winter.
Ah! the wind and the whiteness and the black branches of Winter upon Orod-na-Thôn!

My voice went up and sang in the sky.

And now all those lands lie under the wave.
And I walk in Ambaróna(Ambarona), in Tauremorna, in Aldalómë(Aldalome).
In my own land, in the country of Fangorn,
Where the roots are long,
And the years lie thicker than the leaves
In Tauremornalómë(Tauremornalome).

註：
歌唱部份用 Pan-Flute 表現，伴奏則以鋼琴彈奏，不過我為了簡化，刪掉一部份伴奏。喜歡的人不妨買一套欣賞。

解釋：

1. Tasarinan = Nan-tasarion = Nan-tathren(Sindarin) = Bale of Willows
   垂柳之地，塔斯仁谷，Sirion & Narog 兩河會流處，接近西瑞安河口。

2. Ossiriand，七河之地，在東貝爾蘭（East Beleriand）。

3. Neldoreth = Taur-na-neldor, 為山毛櫸森林（beech），屬於 Thingol 被美麗安環帶包圍的多瑞亞斯王國(Doriath)的一部份。

4. Dorthonion = Orod-na-Thon, pine-mountain，位在多瑞亞斯北方的松樹之地，翻成多索尼安。瞬間烈焰之戰之後此地充滿鬼魅，改稱 Taur-nu-Fuin，浮陰森林。

5. Ambarona = Tauremorna = Aldalome = Fangorn = Tauremornalome，指的都是范岡森林。
   Aldalómë，Tree-Shadow，隱喻森林的黑暗之心。
   Tauremorna & Tauremornalómë，意思是 Forest-many-shadowed、Forest-of-darkness、Forest-black-shadowed，都是 High Elves 稱呼這座他們認為黑暗邪惡的森林所講的 Quenya 語。

• １∼４寫的森林都已在第一紀末，於維拉攻打米爾寇的戰役中毀滅陸沉，所以樹鬍子說它們都已“lie under the wave”。
